Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 15, 2026
At Naija Mother Tongue, we value your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how Naija Mother Tongue (NMT) Ltd collects, uses, protects, and discloses your personal data when you visit our website, register for classes, or log in to our student portals.
1. Personal Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us when registering for a plan, signing up for live classes, or communicating with us. This includes:
- Account Credentials: Email address, full name, phone number, and hashed password credentials (if applicable).
- Student Metadata: Timezone configuration, preferred language selection (Yoruba or Igbo), and audience group classification (e.g. child or adult program).
- Billing and Transaction Records: When purchasing subscriptions, we record transaction references, amounts paid (in USD/NGN), active plans, and completion status. Please note that we do not collect or store your raw credit card numbers. All billing is handled directly and securely by our payment processor, Paystack.
2. How We Use Cookies
Cookies are small data files stored in your browser. We keep cookie usage minimal and strictly functional:
- We use an essential authentication cookie named `naija_session`.
- This cookie is securely encrypted, configured as HTTP-Only (to prevent script interception), and sent only over secure HTTPS connections in production.
- Its sole purpose is to securely store your logged-in session, keep you authenticated while navigating, and retrieve your class quotas dynamically.
- We do not use advertising, marketing, or cross-site tracking cookies. Your data is never shared with third-party advertising brokers.
3. Third-Party Data Sharing
We share your information only with trusted service providers essential for running the platform:
- Paystack: Securely handles credit/debit card processing and subscription billing.
- Resend: Delivers transactional emails, login OTP codes, and payment confirmations.
- Google Meet: Provides the live classroom video conferencing channels.
4. Data Security & Storage
All user records, profiles, subscriptions, and logs are stored inside a secure database with strict role-based authorization controls. We utilize encryption in transit and standard security headers to prevent unauthorized access.
5. Your Rights & Choice
You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you. You can update your profile name and timezone settings directly within the Student Portal. If you wish to permanently delete your account, remove your subscriptions, or restrict data collection, you can submit a deletion request to our support email.
6. Governing Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our database architecture, payment flows, or legal compliance guidelines. We will notify users of any substantial changes by posting the new version on this page.
